During conveying operation of the conveyor system the closing element is
driven next to the opening and is retained there by means of the hold-open device (magnetic clamp). The conveyor pipe is continuously connected.
n the event of fire detection or at the end of the conveying operation the conveying pipe is separated by means of an axially displaceable segment (sleeve) and that delayed in time (up to 120 sec.) along with the closing operation of the CSS. As a result the closing element can move in the thus occurring gap of the conveying pipe in front of the opening and seals it all over, four-sided overlapping without any remaining openings.

On the circumferential steel frame an axially working pipe shifting device (sleeve) is attached. That sleeve connects two connecting pipes belonging to the CSS pressure-tight with the CSS in open position. The connecting pipes are equipped with standard flanges, to which the incoming and outgoing pipes of the conveyor system are connected.
For operating the pipe sealing elements no additional power is needed. Sealing happens automatically along with the movement of the closing element.
