Test (monthly)

In compliance with item 4 of the general technical approval the conveyor system shutter shall be tested for operational conditions once a month by the operator as proof of serviceability of the object of approval. The findings of the test shall be recorded in the test book.

 

 

Scope of test

 

• Check of serviceability of the applied hold-open device.
• Check of the components used for monitoring opening procedures.

 

Test Prerequisites

 

The conveying plant is active

• There is no material to be conveyed in the closing area.
• The hold-open device respectively the controls are in operation.

 

Performance of Test

 

1. Principally a visual test of the mechanical components as to damages shall be performed.
2. The components used for monitoring opening procedures respectively positions shall be checked visually for mechanical intactness and correct alignment (e.g. alignment of light barriers).
3. The control indicators of the hold-open device respectively of the controls shall be checked for their plausibility.
4. At the end a closing process shall be released by using the operating element provided for that purpose.
   • The conveyor system shutter shall move into closing position in smooth running.
   • The control indicators shall be checked.
5. The conveyor system shutter shall be opened by using the device provided for that purpose.
   • The movement shall be smoothly possible.
   • The conveyor system shutter shall safely reach the final position.
   • The control indicators shall be checked.
6. Creation of the  basic operation state (e.g. resetting of activated maintenance switches).
7. Recording of performed tests with date and signature in the test book.
